On the Other Side of Production- My Shoot with Will Aston

Hi, Everyone!

Last week I had the opportunity to shoot with a Philadelphia photographer Will Aston and I wanted to share my experience 🙂

Usually, I work on the production side of shoots: styling, hair and makeup. AND I LOVE IT. I have found a passion in this art and am eager to learn and grow and work on bigger and cooler projects in the future. I’m beyond thankful for the opportunities I have been given, and connections I have made. I’m also very excited to kick off a series of projects that I have been working on for a few years. We’ll talk about that later…

So, I was contacted by a friend, Tim, who is involved in the arts in Philadelphia. Tim liked a photo I posted (SO SELFIE), and forwarded it to his photographer, Will. Tim then inquired about shooting with Will and if it was something I’d be interested in. I said yes, although I was not very confident.

I would like to say that I’m flattered. THANK YOU! That’s so kind 🙂

Initially, I was looking at this as a networking opportunity, which Will and I did later discuss. And at worst, I might be able to snag a new headshot for my website.

I was contacted by Will, and we scheduled a shoot.

It took me a minute to warm up and feel comfortable. It was also only a matter of time until Will saw my goofy side, and laughed at my jokes. From that point forward, we had a blast.

We shot for a handful of hours in various locations. The images looked great and I was able to view them the next day.

A few days later, Will and I shot again.

Below are some of the images we created! Check them out!

Shooting with StoneKap Production for The National Inventors Hall of Fame

Hi Everyone!

Something I’ve been trying to find time to write about, is a recent shoot I worked on in Philly with StoneKap Entertainment for The National Inventors Hall of Fame.

StoneKap is located in Ohio and films throughout the country. The National Inventors Hall of Fame is located in DC with their home office also located in Ohio. StoneKap and The National Inventors Hall of Fame have been working together for a few years.

The shoot took place in a really cool office space that housed the Bresslergroup. The Bresslergroup homepage describes the company as “A research-driven product innovation lab.” And it was just that. A completely open floor plan with high ceilings and large industrial styled windows, a beautiful common space greeted me upon entering. The work space and desks of employees sat behind a glass cube of a conference room, where we shot our interview. The desks themselves were really modern and rather spaced out. The walls were littered with huge white scratch pad paper that I can only imagine to be projects and ideas and work. We also did a few takes in the lab area.

When I was contacted by and accepted the offer from StoneKap, I was beyond excited. I received very little details about the shoot, my communications were mostly about who my contacts were and who I’d be working with.  Upon arriving and meeting the team, I met JD Albert. JD was the subject for our shoot and is being inducted into The National Inventors Hall of Fame for creating E-Ink, the ink that is in e-readers such as the Kindle.

Male grooming is fairly easy and JD needed very little makeup and few touch-ups, mostly to control shine. He was very soft spoken and didn’t mind the makeup. Shortly after, we began filming.

During those two hours of shooting, I learned a lot about JD, what he has created over the years, and what Bresslergroup works on. And I was beyond fascinated.

Between filming, and while the crew was setting up their gear in the lab area, JD showed me a product that the Bresslergroup had recently created. Designed for Temptu, his group created an all-in-one handheld airbrush machine. JD also mentioned that a professional version of the product was in the works, and I cannot wait to purchase one!

We wrapped the day with a few shots in the lab area.

I’m so happy to have met and worked with the team at StoneKap, The National Inventors Hall of Fame, the freelance sound guy and of course JD Albert. I hope to have some stills and reels to share with everyone in the next coming months, after JD is inducted. I also really look forward to seeing what the team has created with our time. I absolutely love working on production based projects!

Hope you all enjoyed reading about the shoot! As always, thank you for reading!

Hi Friends!

So excited to share what I’ve been working on lately!

I was contacted through NewTek and hired as the hair and makeup for a Microsoft production that was filming in both Philadelphia and New York, a week apart.

This morning I’ll be shooting in Times Square at the Microsoft Tech Center.

Super excited to have been sought out for the job. I love working on production and am always looking for new opportunities and companies to network with.

I’ll post some photos from the shoots soon!

New Studio Work

Hi Guys!

I recently linked up with a Photographer new to Philadelphia, Chris Loupos, and we’ve been playing around shooting at a pretty little studio in Fishtown.

Chris is super cool and easy to get along with. His ideas intrigue me and he’s incredibly open to hearing mine. We hope to work on a lighting series and a decade piece soon.

I’m so excited to share these images. I’ve been putting together a decade mood board for a while now, but with a dedicated photographer on board, I’m really focusing on designing the shoot and getting it in studio asap.

I hope to post some new images soon.

Thanks for reading, everyone!

The Start of a New Season- Philadelphia 76er’s Dream Team Dancers

Hi there everyone!

I’ve been a busy bee all summer, working on various projects both in Philly and New York. I’m so excited to share with you guys that I’ll be working with the 76er’s dancers again this year!

I just wrapped their photoshoot last week. The images are used for their website content as well as their trading cards!

There was a handful of new girls this year and a lot of returning faces. It’s so nice working with the girls again this year… I know how Dana, the coach, operates and what she likes the girls to look like. I’m also familiar with what certain girls like and prefer. It’s so much fun and I’m so excited to be back!

Keep an eye out for new images and game time photos!

Let’s go Sixers!

Male Models in New York City

So, last week I ventured into New York City to shoot with an agency male model and stylist for a lookbook. I loved it.

I’ve been to New York a bunch of times but it still totally confuses me. And I’ve never been to Brooklyn. So I had a bunch of fun exploring.

The shoot took place in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn. The train from Manhattan dropped me off only a few blocks from the studio. My walk down Kent Street was beautiful and at one point I even said to myself that I could live there. I loved everything about it, it was gorgeous. Of course I took pictures.
